Jul. 07, 1956 - Cambodia Recognises Peking Government: At he hamlet of Chraneang Te about 10 Km from the frontier of South Vietnam, Prince Norodom Sihanouk the Prime Minister of Cambodia recently announce that his government had decided to recognizes de jure (Legally) - the Peking Government. The Prince was addressing an audience - mainly of peasants - when he visited the hamlet to inaugrate his water policy - intended to promote the construction of dams - wells - reservoirs etc. the country - to ensure water supplies for irrigation etc. during the dry season.
