Aug. 08, 1957 - Duke of Gloucester Opens Scouting Jamboree. The World Scout Jubilee Jamboree at Sutton Coldfield, England, was opened Thursday by the Duke of Gloucester, who is President of the Boy Scouts Association. Picture Shows: The Duke making his speech of welcome to the Scouts. Among those on the platform is Lord Rowallan, the Chief Scout. Afterwards the Duke drove round the ranks of 35, 000 Scouts from 82 countries and toured the camps in which they are living
