Jul. 07, 1958 - Sultan Of Lahej Is Banned: Mr Alan Lennox-Boyd, the Colonial Secretary announced in the Commons yesterday that Britain has banned the Sultan of Lahej, now in Italy, from returning to his terriotry in the A den Protectorate. The Sultan, Sir Ali Abdul Karim, 35, arrived in London in April on a private visit. He left last week for Italy. Mr Lannox-Boyd said that for a considerable time the Sultan had been following a course of action not compatible with his treatias with Britain. The Government was convinced that the Sultan had had foreign political contacts in secret, said Mr Lennox-Boyd.
