May 05, 1960 - Mother Gives Away Her Eleven Day Old Baby. To Be Adopted By Wife From The United States.. Mrs. Yvonne Moore (39) left the Sussex Maternity Hospital - Brighton - with her eleven day old son - and half an hour later handed the baby over to 38 year old Mr. Gladys Simon who had flown from New York to adopt him. The baby was born by Caesarean birth - after which Mr. Moore said she wanted nothing whatever to do with him - and even refused to feed the child. After the handover Mrs. Moore promised Mrs. Simon wound not see he again. Mrs. Moore's husband is 41 year old bus driver Leo. Mrs. Simon will stay in this country for six months in order to adopt the child. Her husband is a Government Official in New York.
