Feb. 02, 1960 - Millionaire sued by daughter for dowry. Unusual case at the London High Court.: Mrs. Fanny Sybil-Phrantzes (29) of Park Street, Mayfair is bringing a High Court action against her father Cr. Philip Pandely Arneti, Hon. counselor in charge of cultural affairs at the Greek Embassy - claiming that Under Greek custom he is obliged to pay her a dowry. Mrs. Phrantzes married her husband at the Greek Cathedral Bayswater in December 1957. Her father, who lives in South Kensington is said to have property in England - Greece and elsewhere valued at about 2, 000, 000. It was said in Court that under Article 1495 of the Greek civil code, a father was obliged to provide his daughter with a dowry, the amount being based on the number of his children - his social position of the daughter's husband. Dr. Argenti denies his liability. Photo shows Mrs. Fanny Sybil Phrantzes and her husband - after today's hearing
