Feb. 02, 1961 - Couple Say Police Made A Disturbing Accusation'. Kiss In Car Couple. Twenty four year old Miss Anne Firman a dress designer - and her fiancée - 30 year old Mr. Gerald Selby - appeared in the High Court - where they are bringing an action for damages against the police. They allege wrongful arrest; malicious prosecution; etc. against police constables John McDonald and Donald MacLennan of Chelsea Police. The couple were acquitted in 1959 of committing a lewd obscene and disgusting act in Mr. Selby;s car. Miss Firman said they had spent all their savings fighting the case - and so they could not yet - get married.
