Feb. 02, 1964 - The Barefoot Bride - at a city Wedding Beatniks in Force at the Breakfast: What was said to be the most colorful of Weddings - took place recently at a Registry office in Sydney - Australia. The bride was nineteen year old Mary Mischlewski a telephonist - and the groom - twenty one year old Philip Delano Bryden-Brown a telephone linesman - both of King's cross- sydeny. Neither the bride or the groom or any of the guests had special clothes for the wedding - they all wore jeans - many were bearded and barefoot. the wedding breakfast was held at a city Hotel saloon - and the effects of the celebration are still being felt by the hotel staff etc. The guests simple let their hair-down-guitars twanged and high jinks dancing went on long into the night. The bride and groom are spending their honeymoon on a hitch-hike to Brisbane. Photo shows The Beatnik bride and groom exchange a Miss after the wedding
