Mar. 03, 1966 - Crown Princess Beatrix Weds In Amsterdam. Crown Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands and Claus Von Amsberg were married today in Amsterdam. Anti-German demonstrators fought running battles with riot police in the streets of the city. Crowds of youths chanting Long Live the Republic and hurling smoke bombs, clashed with truncheon-wielding police as several points in the capital as the Princess drove to the Town Hall for the civil ceremony.
