Sep. 09, 1969 - Holiday Can Wait: Farmer's wife Ami Hodgson, pictured here, was all set to go to Majorca for a two-week holiday. The plane and hotel were booked and all arrangements made. Then came a phone call from Border Television in Carlisle asking if she would like to audition for the job of hostess on a new quiz show Mr. and Mrs. Ami, of The Height, Caldbeck (Cumberland) attended the audition along with about twenty other pretty girls and a few days later was told that the 26 week series was hers if she would like it. The big problem was that the dates of the opening programme of the series clashed with her continental holiday. She happily accepted the television job - Majorca can wait until another year, she said. I'm looking forward to my work on television. Mr. and Mrs. is a quiz show for married couples in the Border Television area, and quizmaster Derek Batey will be trying to find out just how much Border couples know about each other - and giving them the chance to win large cash prizes in the process
