Oct. 04, 1979 - The South African Barbarians win first match: The South Africa Barbarians won two battles in their first match of the tour at Exeter yesterday. They beat the Devon side by 27 points to 18. And the threat by the anti apartheid demonstrators to stop the game failed when only eight managed to get into the ground, and the police stopped them from interrupting the game for more than 20 seconds. The manager of the controversial multiracial team, Chick Henderson, was pleased there was only a small stoppage and he hopes the rest of the tour goes a well
