Aug. 08, 1955 - Rescue helicopter crashes into the Sea. Crew rescued by Launch: A Sycamore helicopter taking part in the New Royal Air Force Coastal rescue service crashed into the sea during a demonstration of various helicopter rescue techniques in the Channel today. The pilot Sqd. Leader Paul C. Bowery and his crewman Sgt. G. Scoggins were rescued by a launch. Photo shows the scene as the helicopter crashes into the sea at the demonstration this afternoon
