Helmut Schmidt and King of Tonga

Mar. 22 At the invitation of Federal President Karl Carstens the King of Tonga, Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, and Queen Halaevalu Mata'aho paid an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany from 18 to 27 November 1979. The first three days King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV had political talks in Bonn. Furthermore two agreements on technical and financial cooperation were signed during his stay in the Federal capital. On November 21 the Tongan guests went to Stuttgart/West Germany after having made a visit to Rhineland-Palatinate. further stops of their voyage through West Germany were Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
