Herbert Gruhl, German politician and environmentalist

Mar. 31 A planet is Plundered is the title of a book, written by Dr. Herbert Gruhl (our picture). Gruhl is a well known German CDU politician and member of the Federal Diet. After the book was published, it created differences between him and his party, because of theses made there about nuclear power, the consumer society and economic growth, which are not in agreement with the official opinion of the Christian Democratic Union. In the meantime, Dr. Gruhl - a very engaged environmentalist - threatened to forsake his party and try to start for the next election with the Green tickets (environmentalists). Now CDU Chairman Helmut Kohl has invited Dr. Gruhl for a clarifying talk
