Oct. 10, 1955 - Britain's most modern Aircraft carrier prepares for Mediterranean service: H.M.S. Ark Royal - the Royal Navy's most modern aircraft carrier carried out carrier drill and flying trials in the English Channel today in preparation for an operational tour of duty in the Mediterranean. Photo shows members of the Ark Royal crew watching the Internal Ship T.V. during the trials today. The apparatus is used for instructions etc. while at sea and can be tuned into normal BBC transmissions when close enough to the coast
