HMS Grey Goose in demonstration off the Isle of Wight

Jul. 07, 1955 - Floating test bed for the Royal Navy. HMS Grey Goose. The famous wartime midget warship HMS Grey Goose has been transferred into a floating test bed for Royal Navy experiments. She has been fitted with two secret experimental Rolls Royce Marine gas turbine engines of advanced design - fifty percent lighter than orthodox engines and taking up twenty-five percent less room. Show was demonstrated for the press at HMS Horst - the Gosport Coastal Forces Base today.
