Nov. 09, 1960 - Honest John Rocket Missile Fired on Salisbury Plain. An Honest John missile was fired this afternoon from the school of Artillery, Larkhill, Salisbury Plain. The Rocket was fused to explode itself 5, 000 feet up, as a demonstration for senior army officers studying tactical atomic weapons at Larkhill. Photo shows Honest John as it leaves the launching ramp at the start of its Journey into the sky at Larkhill this afternoon
