1955 - Gabriel's Horn? Britain is exporting generating machinery using steam, oil or water power, together with transformers, switch gear and rectifiers to countries all over the world, including the United States. Photo shows horn-shaped spiral casing for one of two 73, 000 hp water turbines being exported to Portugal. Standing 35 ft. high, the 66 ton casing was made by the English Electric Company
