Oct. 06, 1970 - Hotte will not go to the dogs: but the dog he is pictured with in front of his house at Lenzerheide in Switzerland belongs to the family. Whenever Hotte (pet-name for Horst Buchholz) is away from Switzerland - which is his adopted country - the dog takes care of Horst's wife Miriam and his two children Christopher (8) and Beatrice (7). As he is working in Paris at the moment he is at least able to be with his family at the weekends. At Paris Horst started a risky project, - he makes his debut as a director. The story he chose is rather difficult: Giovanni's Room - which is a novel written by the black American bestseller-author James Baldwin. It is the story of a young and bisexual American who stands between the love of a girl and of an Italian waiter called Giovanni. Buchholz knows of the risk: Four years ago this subject could not have been screened - but that's what entices me'. Buchholz has brought together the money for his first production all by himself - some private financiers Hotte will now try to find
