Hsiung Hsiang-hi of China arrives in Mexico

Aug. 08, 1972 - China's Envoy Welcomed To Mexico: Following the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico a little over a month ago, Peking has sent Hsiung Hsiang-hi, as its first ambassador to the Mexican capital, accompanied by his wife Mme Chen Chiau-hwa, and 12 officials who will be part of his mission. The new ambassador, who was born in the Anhwei province of mainland China, graduated with a degree in foreign relations from Tsing-hua University, and served as deputy director in the Foreign Relations Ministry in Peking, and is a former diplomatic representative to the United Kingdom. The Chinese diplomatic mission who arrived at Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City, were welcomed by Jaime Pena Vera, representing the Foreign Relations secretariat, and some 200 members of the Chinese community in Mexico.
