Hungarian PM Imre Nagy dismissed
1955 - Hungarian Prime Minister Dismissed: The dismissal of Imre Nagy as Prime Minister of Hungary was announced over the Budapest radio recently - six weeks after he had been publicly denounced as an anti-Marxist, Right Wing deviationist'. He is succeeded by Andras Hegedues. The decision to remove Nagy was reached at a meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers Party - the meeting dismissed Mihaly Farkas as Defence Minister - assigning him to other party work'.
