Hungarian refugee couple and baby with MP godfather

Feb. 02, 1958 - Refugee baby christened, Anthony Greenwood MP Godfather holding the baby: The Christening took place this morning at Rowfant House, near Crawley, Sussex, of the baby son born to Mrs. Julia Farkas, one of the eleven Hungarian refugee stowaways from Brazil who were allowed to remain in this country. Mr. Anthony Greenwood the Labour MP who did so much work to obtain permission for the family to remain here was godfather. The baby was named Richard Anthony Austen (after Mr Greenwood and Home Secretary Rab Butler). Photo Shows Mr. Anthony Greenwood holding the baby after the christening this morning watched by Mr. and Mrs. Farkas (L) with Mrs Jean Leader, godmother, during the reception which followed the christening this morning
