Jan. 01, 1958 - Hungarian Refugee Families Allowed To Remain In England. Husbands and Wives Reunited. It was announced in the House of Commons yesterday that the 11 Hungarian refugees who stowed away in a Liner from Brazil to London - and who created a sensation when they refused to be placed aboard a liner to take them back to Brazil - were to be allowed to remain in this country. Last night the three husbands of the party - arrested on Saturday after they had fled to avoid being deported - left Brixton Jail and rejoined their families at a hostel at Crawley, Sussex.
