Hungarian refugee mother and baby at christening

Feb. 02, 1958 - Refugee Baby Christened. Anthony Greenwood MP As Godfather. The christening took place at Rowfant House, near Crawley, Sussex, of the baby son of Mrs. Julia Farkas - one of the eleven Hungarian refugee stowaways from Brazil - who were allowed to remain in Britain. Labour MP Mr. Anthony Greenwood was a Godfather - and the baby was named Richard Anthony Austen - (after Home Secretary Rab Butler and Mr. Greenwood). Keystone Photo Shows:- Mrs. Julia Farkas holds the baby - as assembled guests toast them both - during the small reception which followed the christening
