Iain Macleod, Minister of Health, opens hospital block

Feb. 02, 1954 - Minister of Health opens new administration block at St.Giles Hospital. A new administration block and operating theatre at St.Gile's Hospital Camberwell, was opened today by the Minister of Health, Iain Macleod. He paid a visit to the nurses modern quarters. There are 37 rooms for the staff. Each has its own colour scheme - in blue, gold or green. Every room has a built-in wardrobe, a dressing table with mirror, a wash basin, writing table and bed. Photo shows Iain Macleod, opening the new block with a golden key watched by the Matron, V.M. Snelling, today
