Jan. 01, 1964 - Macleod speaks out.: The sensational inside story of how Sir Alec Douglas-Home became Prime Minister was disclosed last night by Mr. Iain Macleod, one of the Ministers who refused to serve under him. Mr. Macleod, who is now the editor of the spectator, has written an article in which he states that from the beginning to the end of his Prime Ministership, Mr. Macmillan was determined that, in spite of the fact that he was the most qualified man for the job, Deputy Prime minister Mr. R.
