Oct. 10, 1955 - Mrs. Pandit opens 1955 Unicef greeting card campaign in Europe.: Mrs. Pandit, the High Commissioner for India in London today opened the 1955 Unicef Greeting card campaign in Europe - in a ceremony at India House this morning. Unicef Greeting Cards have been sold for the benefit of the United Nations Children's Fund since 1948. All the profits from the cards got to the support of the assistance which Unicef is giving to child health and welfare programmes in more than 90 countries and territories. A group of children from the countires in Europe in which the greeting cards will be sold - were present at today's ceremony.
