Dec. 12, 1957 - Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in New Delhi: The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference opened in New Delhi on December 2nd. It was inaugerated by the Indian President, Dr.Ranendra Prasad who, with dark glasses and walking stick, is seen going in procession to the Central Hall of Parliament, where the Conference was being held. In front of the President is Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, the Vice-President (in white), and Mr. M. Ananthasayanam, Ayyangar, Speaker of the Indian Parliament. Behind the President are representatives of the three host countries Mr. Abdus Sattar Pirsads (Pakistan), Mr. S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike (Ceylon), and Mr.Nehru (India). In the background are Mr. Hughaitskell, Mr. D. Heathcoat- Amory and other delegates
