Mar. 27 A young tea picker of India, at work on the hillside of a plantation in Kerala, India's only communist controlled state. She picks between 70-100 lbs a day, and receives I repee. 5 annas per 16 lbs. To get the 16 lbs, she has to take only the bud and two leaves from the top of each tea bush, consequently she walks miles through the plantation always uphill. After her basket is full she carries it long distances back to the tea factory
