Apr. 18 500 grams of Uranium (seen wrapped inl an aluminium foil-lying inl the centre of the table) was seized bly calcutta Detective police recently from a restaurant in Burra bazar area in calcutta. Seven persons were arrested in this connection. Our photograph shows the scientists Dr.S.Chatterji, of Bhaba Research Institute, Dr. S.Chowdhury, director of Forensic Laboratory. Dr.A. Katru, of Mineral Research institute of Atomic Energy commission with Calcutta police. commissioner Mr. S. Chowdhury for examining the genuineness of the contents of the containers at Lall Bazar police station in Calcutta on Thursday - June 27th. 1974. It is report that the uranium used to be smuggled into china through Nepal from Uranium Mines of Jadvagra, in Bihar
