Apr. 18 Teenage Indian tea pickers in Kerala, India's only communist controlled state. They pick between 70-100 lbs. of tea daily. For every 16 lbs they are paid I Rupee 5.Annas. They must only pick the bud and two leaves from each bush and consequently move from bush to bush up the steep hillsides where the tea is planted, when their baskets are full they have to walk long distances to the tea factory
