India - Nepal - Pakistan

Apr. 18 Still they come: A bangla desh refugee carries his wife. The Government of India is now saying that it will ask foreign aid workers to leave Bengal as it can cope with the refugee problem itself. Skilled observers are horrified at the thought although they agree the Indians have done well. Daily, more hunger stricken and sick men, women and children make their way over the borders and find the Camps set up by War on Want, Save the Children Fund, Oxfam, and other International agencies. There, they find food, medicine aid and kindness as far as funds and time permit. Photo shows Bengali refugee carries his sick wife the last few yards into a War on Want hospital at Bigberia
