May 05, 1964 - Pandit Nehru dies. All India is in deep mourning today following the news that the 74 year old Prime Minister Mr.Nehru died at his home in New Delhi, a few hours after a paralytic stroke. Mr. Nehru had only just returned last night from a three day holiday following his partial recovery from a stroke in January. When the news of his death was announced in the Houses of Parliament in India, M.P.'s and Ministers wept.
