May 27, 1964 - Pandit Nehru Dies. All India is in deep mourning today following the news that the 74 year old Prime Minister Mr. Nehru died at his home in New Delhi this morning, a few hours after a paralytic stroke. Mr. Nehru had only returned last night from a three day holiday following his partial recovery from a stroke in January.
