Sep. 09, 1967 - The Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Mrs Indira Gandhi arrived in Ceylon September 18 on a four-day State visit. During her talks with Ceylon Government leaders, Mrs Gandhi is down to discuss what common diplomatic action should be taken to face the ever-increasing Red Chinese subversive activities that are being carried out in both countries. Mrs Gandhi said in Colombo that both India and Ceylon which had a common cultural and religious heritage, had successfully preserved democracy in the Asian subcontinent, despite Red Chinese efforts to negate the concept of democracy. Mrs Gandhi on arrival at Ceylon's inter-airport, Ratmalana, is seen accompanied by the Prime Minister of Ceylon, Mr Dudley Senanayake to a special dais from where she took the salute.
