1974 - Non-Communist parties in India agree to merge.: Seven non-Communist parties in India recently agreed to merge and form a new party. The parties which agreed to merge were the Bhartiya Kranti Dal, Swantra Party, UItkal Congress, Samyukta Socialist Party, Muslim Majlis, Bhartiya Khetihar Sangh and Loktantrik Dal.
