Jan. 01, 1965 - Indonesian landing Thwarted by H.M.S. Ajax.: Seven sampans with 22 armed Indonesians aboard were intercepted by the frigate H.M.S. Ajax in the Malacca Straits. The boats and crews were handed over to the Malaysian security Forces police. The leader of the infiltrators and the Indonesian Sergeant, said they had trained for six weeks for this operation and were part of a larger forced which intended landing on Malaysian coast that night. Photo shows four barefoot young Indonesians sit with their hands over their heads. Their helmeted guard has a pistol at theready to make them behave - after they had been interrupted by H.M.S. Ajax in the Malacca Straits
