Subandrio was on tour in Sumatra during the communist coup and military counter-coup of Oct. 1. Subandrio said that the President did not condone the murders of the country's 6 generals. He made a general statement, which left military and religious leaders unhappy because he did not condemn the communist atrocities. Meeting was at Bogor Palace
