Jun. 06, 1975 - Hamilton S, . Amerasinghe: Mr. Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe, President of the third United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea. Mr. Amerasinghe was elected to this post on 3 December 1973. He has been Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations since 1967. Since 1969, Mr. Amerasinghe has been chairman of the General Assembly's Committee on the Peaceful Uses of the Sea-Bed and the Ocean floor beyond the Limits of National Jurisdiction, which was dissolved on 3 December 1973 with the Opening of the Law of the Sea Conferrer.
