The Assembly was declared open at the inaugural ceremony by Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, Secretary of State for education and Science. Photo shows Dr. Donald H. Menzel, USA, of Harvard University and the Smithsonian Astro Physical Observatory, arrives for the afternoon session of the delegation. He is Chairman of the Working Group of the I.A.U. for Lunar Nomenclature
