International Labour Exhibition, Turin, Italy

1961 - Nations Combine To Show The Work Of Man: 22 nations and international organisations are to take part in the International Labour Exhibition, opening next May 6 in Turin as part of the centennial celebrations of the Italian nation. Each, in a Palace of Labour on the banks of the river Po, will deal with a facet of a central theme, Man at Work, telling of a century of technical and social progress. Here British artists work on part of the British contribution, Scientific Research, charting the progress of international science in the last 100 years. It will cover an area of 15, 500 square feet. Bottom right: Eduardo Paolozzi, celebrated sculptor, Scottish born of Italian parents, concentrates on his bronze abstract entitled No.70. It will be shown in the introductory area of the exhibition's Applied Science Department
