International volunteers in Chertsey
Feb. 29, 1962. HOW THE TEENAGERS SPEND THEIR HOLIDAY. INTERNATIONAL YOUNGSTERS BUILD NURSES HOME. Nineteen boys and girls from nine countries are to be seen for the next three weeks - working on building extensions to the Nurses quarters at St. Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, Surrey. They are members of the International Voluntary Service Organization - they work for 44 hours a week for their food and bed - with materials provided. They paid their own fares to Chertsey. Members of the I.V.STO. are carrying out this type of work in many countries - helping wherever they can - in contrast to the Mods and Rockers - wreckers of the seaside resorts.
