Feb. 02, 1958 - Israel has new Chief of Staff. : Mr. Ben Gurion, the Israel Prime MInister, announced the appointment in Jerusalem on Thursday of General Chaim Laskov, as the new Chief of Staff - at a ceremony in the Premier's office, after General Moshe Dayan, Chief of Staff of the Israel defence force since 1953, formally relinquished hi command.
