Jun. 06, 1967 - Israel's Strong-Man General appointed Minister of Defence: General Moshe Dayan, Israel's here of the 1956 Suez campaign, has been appointed minister of defence. This Israeli move is expsed to raise the country's morale. General Dyan was born in a Kibbutz in 1915 of Ukranian parents, and lost an eye fighting the Vichy French in Syria.
