Dec. 12, 1969 - Skyjacked Israelis freed by Syria: Two Israelis detained in Syria for 98 days after the skyjacking of a Trans World airliner, were exchanged on Friday for 13 Syrian prisoners. The two Israelis, Professor Shlomo Samuelov and Mr. Salah Muslem, were among the 101 people aboard the jet when it was skyjacked by two Palestinian guerrillas, on a flight from Athens to Tel Aviv on August 29. Among those welcoming the two men at Lydda Airport, Tel Aviv were the Israeli Prime Minister, Mrs. and members of her cabinet.
