Dec. 12, 1969 - Israel and Egypt in Prisoner Exchange.: Israel and Egypt on Saturday exchanged prisoners accoss the Suez Canal, less than 24 hours after an axchange between Israel and Syria. The exchanges were organised by the International Red Cross Egypt returned two military pilots and Israel handed back one pilot, five soldiers and 52 civilians. Photo shows Lieutenant Rom - one of the military pilots handed back by the Egyptians, seen being brought to hospital near Tel Aviv after the exchange
