Jan. 01, 1976 - Israeli Defence Minister tours Lebanese border Defences: The Israeli defence minister, Mr. Shimon Peres made a tour of the Lebanese Border Defences in case Syrian armed forces should invade Lebenon, Israel will take such measures as indicated by the situation created along the Northern Border with the Lebanon. Mr Peres added that possible entry of the Syrian Army into Lebanon, and the presence there of large numbers of Palestinian terrorists. These two problems are being followed closely, as having direct implications on Israeli's security. What is happening in Lebanon among the warring factions was an internal affair, on which Israel has no wish to comment-said Mr. Peres during his tour.
