Italian painting installed in St Paul's Cathedral, London
Nov. 11, 1953 - 16th. Century Painting for St. Paul's: A 16th- Century painting was put in place at St Paul's Cathedral yesterday. The painting of the Virgin and Child with St Luke, is attributed to Paolo Veronese, the Italian painter of the Veronese and Venetian schools. It has been given to St. Paul's by Mr. John Underwood, in memory of his father Mr. Eric Underwood, writer and lecturer, who died last year. Canon G.L. Prestige, Canon-in-Residence at St. Paul's described the picture as a very impressive painting, rich in colour, and a joy to have
