Dec. 12, 1955 - THE REGIMENTAL EMBLEM GOES ON PARADE IN CYPRUS. THE TEAK CHINZ CAT OF THE SOUTH STAFFS.. The 1st. Batt. The South Staffordshire Regiment recently celebrated FERCZESHAH DAY to commemorate the famous battle against the Sikhs. in December 1845 - on their Parade ground at Waynes Keep, near Nicosia. On Parade was the ancient solid tean CHINZ cat - gilded and painted red and black - presented to the Regiment in Mandalay in 1925..
