Oct. 10, 1957 - Communist And non- communists struggle for control of the state of San Marino. The struggle for control of the state of San Marino between the christian Democrat Provinsional govt. controlled by Giovanni Savoritto and signor Melloni leader of the Communist Government. Yesterday the two-opposing leaders had a 30 minute meeting. The Communists have formed patrols - Volunteer red - all armed to check arrivals and departures at the tiny state. The local population is now feeling the effect of the longs struggle - one of the two markets is closed - as there is nothing to sell - and food is very very short.
