Italy - San Marino

May 05, 1973 - The Chamber of Deputies voted overwhelmingly to authorize a trial for Giorgio Almirante, leader of the Italian Social Movements (MSI), of charges of trying to reconstitute the banned Fascist Party. A Milan prosecutor who has since died requested the lifting of Almirante's parliamentary immunity last year, blaming the MSI for a recent wave of Fascist propaganda and violence. Photo shows Giorgio Almirante entera in Chambers of Deputies to attend to the Debate
